CROCODILE REDUCES PRICE AND IMPROVES
PERFORMANCE OF ONE-TRIP PACKAGING
Significant investment in production
facilities and equipment has enabled Crocodile Packaging
Limited to not only reduce the price but also improve
the performance characteristics of its one-trip range of
transit packaging containers.
Since being established in 1991,
Crocodile Packaging has striven to offer customers the
latest advances in packaging design and performance. The
company has developed a full range of bespoke boxes to
protect items of any size and shape during short or long
haul transit. This commitment to product development is
typified by Crocodile’s investment in production
equipment at the company’s modern Swindon
manufacturing facility that has enabled Crocodile to
improve the quality and performance of its one-trip
product range.
Crocodile’s one-trip products are
manufactured to the highest standards from Oriented
Strandboard (OSB), which is made from oriented layers of
wood glued in a strong matrix. OSB is commonly used in
the building industry as flooring and shuttering and is
acknowledged as a reliable and cost-effective packaging
material. Significantly, over recent years, OSB raw
material costs have stabilised which combined with the
company’s improved manufacturing systems and
purchasing expertise, has driven down the cost of the
Crocodile one-trip product range to unprecedented
levels.
Although extremely robust and reliable
in use, OSB can suffer from a tendency to splinter when
fixed with nails or screws. However, Crocodile has
completely eliminated this possibility by using its
unique clip fastening system which allows routed panels
to be simply and precisely held together. Boxes are
delivered in flatpack form, taking up minimal storage
space, and can be assembled easily and swiftly with no
tools. The dismantling of empty boxes for possible
return and re-use is a similarly straightforward
procedure.
Henry Corp of Crocodile Packaging, says
“By investing in new production equipment, much of
which we have designed ourselves, improving our
production procedures and switching customers to OSB, we
have managed to steadily reduce the cost of our one-trip
boxes over the last three years. Some customers have
saved up to 30% after switching to Crocodile one-trip.
Also, by monitoring quality at every stage of the
manufacturing process, we have maximised the benefits of
OSB whilst eliminating its traditional problems,
ensuring exceptional performance at an affordable price.
With UK delivery available from five working days, a
Crocodile system will prove to be the cheapest and most
convenient way to pack products for export.”
