CROCODILE’S TOTAL UNIT MANAGEMENT
SERVICE OPTIMISES REUSABLE PACKAGING BENEFITS
Crocodile Packaging Limited’s unique
Transit System Management Service (TSM) enables users to
benefit from the significant cost advantages and
environmental benefits of reusable transit packaging
without getting swamped by RTP recovery and return
requirements.
During the past decade, reusable
packaging has become an increasingly viable alternative
to single-use systems. The introduction of the EU
Packaging & Packaging Waste Directive (94/62 EC) has
encouraged specifiers to re-evaluate their existing
packaging operations and to choose cost-effective
reusable containers. Suppliers like Crocodile Packaging
have helped users comply with latest EU legislation and
save money by switching to reusable solutions. Crocodile
offers a full range of cost-effective bespoke systems
designed to protect items of any size and shape during
short or long haul transit. Ideal for shipping,
airfreight, road transport and even manual handling,
Crocodile units are easy to assemble yet extremely
robust.
Despite recognising the proven
advantages of reusable packaging, many specifiers still
remain wary of multi-use systems because of potential
problems over container control. If RTP units are not
adequately tracked and returned, loss factors can
certainly be considerable and cost-effectiveness
severely compromised. To eliminate these potential
problems, Crocodile has developed the TSM Service, which
is designed to ensure the prompt, reliable recovery and
return of containers.
Currently offering a Pan-European
capability, Crocodile’s TSM Service ensures the
highest possible recovery rates by proactively tracking
customers’ units after they have reached their
destination. The units are then recovered and returned
to the customer’s nominated delivery point ready for
immediate reuse. Crocodile’s TMS Service is tailored
to meet specific customer requirements both in terms of
the bespoke packaging supplied and the recovery and
return of units. For example, stockholding and
re-delivery of Crocodile systems can be matched to
support ‘just-in-time’ operations.
Quentin Philip, Managing Director of
Crocodile Packaging, says “By creating and managing a
closed loop system, users can lock into the economic and
environmental advantages of reusable packaging. Our TSM
Service drastically reduces the problems of container
loss traditionally associated with reusable systems. The
TSM Service also typifies Crocodile’s commitment to
providing comprehensive support for our customers, from
the design and supply of reusable boxes right through to
recovery, refurbishment and return.”
