Oriented Strand
Board (OSB) Cases Product Range
Also known as
Sterling Board, OSB is widely used in the
construction industry for shuttering, cladding etc.
|
|
As an inexpensive
material it is an ideal alternative to plywood for
making Crocodile cases.
OSB is an environmentally friendly material being a
by-product of the plywood and softwood manufacturing
processes.
OSB is available in both 18mm and 11mm thickness and
can be cut and machined in the same way as plywood.
18mm
OSB HEAVYWEIGHT
|
 |
Despite its low cost, OSB has high mechanical
strength with good dimensional stability when
exposed to moisture although it doesn't have quite
the same strength as plywood. |
 |
It is an
ideal material to use in applications where high
protection is required for a one-trip case or for
where items may be placed in long-term storage under
controlled conditions. |
|
11mm
OSB LIGHTWEIGHT
11mm OSB is a
material suitable for providing a superior level of
protection at a very low cost. Usually used in
conjunction with an 18mm ply or OSB base the 11mm
OSB box can provide all the advantages of the
Crocodile clipped system (easy assembly, no nails or
screws, flatpackability, loading through an open
side etc.), whilst keeping the unit cost as low as
possible. 11mm OSB boxes are suitable where the box
is of a medium to small size and where there is
likely to be relatively low levels of rough
handling.
