Protecting your
product is the most important aspect of any transit
packaging…
Damage costs money !
Once it leaves your despatch area you have no
control over what happens to the box that contains
the valuable goods that you may have designed, sold
and then manufactured for your valuable customer.
What
would happen if a forklift driver hits the box with
the fork tips?
What
would happen if the box were pushed around the floor
by the forklift?
What
if the box is dropped or tips over?
Will
the truck always be driven on smooth tarmac roads,
or rough dirt tracks?
Will
damage occur if your customer needs to use heavy
tools to open the box?
Will
damage occur from sharp edges, protruding nails or
corners on the box's interior?
Product damage is always expensive… Just how
expensive depends on the value of your product!
How much damage is acceptable to you?
Let Crocodile Protect
Our range of materials gives you the opportunity use
a box that gives optimum protection every time…
For heavy, expensive items, 18mm Plywood or OSB
gives the ultimate protection from rough forklift
handling whilst 12mm Plywood, together with
protective internal dunnage, will protect lighter
high value electronics from arduous journeys.
The rebated clipped system prevents movement of
individual panels… the item inside the box is much
less likely to be damaged by external percussive
force whilst the smooth inner surface lends itself
to easy attachment of internal structures or
protective foam to further protect your product.
Large savings
The chart below illustrates the potential savings
from limiting damage to product…
Case Study
A Company ships 1,000 large electronic components
per week to Asia, worth £2,000 each, in standard
plywood boxes costing £24.50 each.
The Company is not happy with current write-offs
from damage, which stand at 1%. Damage costs are
therefore £20,000 per week.
Crocodile propose to use 18mm boxes costing £31.25
each. Trials show that these boxes will limit damage
to a maximum of 0.25% per week. Product damage costs
would be therefore be reduced to £5,000 per week.
Total cost savings from implementing the above
project would be £8,250 per week or £429,000
per year.
